Retro Lips! Gotta Have It?

Image

Love the “Retro” Pastel colors on your lips but want a modern touch to them? The key is it’s in the texture of the formula you choose. Try going for a Satin finish instead of a Matte that can really look outdated. Then try a dab of matching or even clear gloss on top just at the middle of you lower lip. That gives extra shine and adds that “Lush” to your pucker power!

Fair skins might try cool pinks and purples with a blue undertone (think lavender). Darker completions can rock warmer more vibrant hues (think fuchsias or coral reds).

If you are shy about color it’s ok to go for sheer formulas. You can first balm them down by using it on top of your color to give a hint (in fact if you use a balm with SPF that is even better and more protection) . Try Revlon Color Burst lip Butter-in cupcake $7.00 in drugstores, or Dior Lipstick Pink Caprise $32.00 www.dior.com) , Now that’s Rock’n it!

I C You! Vitamin C Power in a powder for your skin? Yep!

ImageVitamin C  has been proven to be a powerful antioxidant for our bodies but did you know that you can add it to you favorite moisturizer for an extra boost to your daily skin regimen? It’s true and proves to be cost effective too. Yes those little powder packets you find on the health food isle can be mixed into your favorite night time moisturizer or homemade beauty scrub. The key is to mix it in well while the cream is warm and refrigerate overnight to allow it to infuse (in fact you can do this for a couple of days if you want to make sure it completely dissolves for a creamier texture). You may want to test this on a small patch of skin before use to make sure your skin is not too sensitive or to just tweek the formula. You may not need the entire packet to accomplish a nice boost of antioxidant power. Some packets contain caffeine that can tighten your skin and can work well in your daytime moisturizers.
